Hand-building Course for Beginners.

Service Description

Hand Building only (beginners+) Five consecutive Tuesday evenings 26th May, 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd June (18:30 - 20:30) Two weeks off to allow work to be bisque fired. Sixth session Tuesday 14th July (18:30 - 20:30) This course will be hosted by Fiona Swepson. Fiona will take you through a range of ceramic hand-building techniques and glazing. It is suitable for complete beginners and those potters that enjoy hand building and woulld like to refresh their knowledge. There will be no tuition on the potter’s wheel. All materials, equipment and firings are included in the price. The first three weeks will involve demonstrations from your instructor on pinch, coil and slab techniques which you will then be practising in the class, designing and producing pieces using the hand building techniques shown. Week four and five will allow you to refine and develop your work. Once work has been fired during the break Fiona will teach you how to glaze your pieces in the final session and they will be ready to collect from the studio within 4-6 weeks. Cancellation Policy: We are not able to offer full refunds unless the class, workshop or taster session you have booked is cancelled 14 or more days before the session. If your booking is cancelled less than 14 days before the session we might be able to offer you a refund, if we can fill your space with another students. A booking fee of 5% is non-refundable.
